The triceps brachii is the largest muscle of the upper limb arm, therefore
 It originates just below the shaft of the scapula (shoulder) and at two distinct areas of the humerus, this triceps brachii muscle is combined by three heads –

  • Triceps Brachii Muscle (Lateral Head)
  • Medial Head
  • Long Head

Triceps Brachii Muscle (Lateral Head)

The lateral head of the triceps brachii muscle is a muscle of the back of the arm, originating from the back of the humeral shaft and inserting at the elbow.

Exercises:

• Bench Dips
• Rope Pressdown 
• Cable Pressdown 
• Seated machine dips
• Machine Bar Pressdown
• Close grip bench press (CGBP)
• Barbell skull crusher

Medial Head

The medial head of the triceps brachii muscle is one head of the triceps muscle and originates from the back of the humerus.

Exercises:

• Incline skull crusher
• Bench Dips
• Close grip bench press
• Parallel bar dips

Long Head

The long head of the triceps brachii muscle is a muscle of the back of the arm, originating from the scapula and shoulder to insert at the elbow.

Exercises:

• Seated Barbell Overhead Extension
• Barbell skull crusher
• Rope Overhead Ext.
• DB Single hand Overhead Ext
• DB Overhead Ext.
